How To Use A Dark Mode In WhatsApp Web For Google Chrome And Firefox: Benefits And Features

Although there is a native option to enable dark mode on YouTube, you can use this browser add-on to get the same. At times, it can be hectic to reply to all the comments on your YouTube video, and eventually, it might hurt your eyes too. Therefore, you can use the Dark Theme for YouTube Firefox add-on to enable theme dark if you do not like to use the in-built option for any reason.

How To Use A Dark Mode In WhatsApp Web (Google Chrome And Firefox)

You can schedule the add-on, create a whitelist/blacklist of sites, and change text, hyperlink, and background color, etc. The most important feature is that you can enable dark reading mode on a particular webpage instead of doing the same on the entire website.

Like most of the other Firefox dark reader add-ons on this list, it offers a few options to manage everything from your end. For example, you can schedule dark reader mode in Firefox so that you can save some time, quickly turn on/off the dark mode, etc.

It offers some specialized dark mode for some preset websites like YouTube, Facebook, Reddit, etc. However, if you want to apply the same dark mode instead of a different one, you can do that from the Preferences. On the other hand, it is possible to customize each dark mode type according to your requirements.

Owl is another dark reader Firefox add-on that you can use to apply dark mode in Firefox. Whether you read articles or edit documents on Google Docs, you can get a dark reading environment for anything. One cool feature is that you can turn on dark mode for local PDFs that you can open with Firefox browser.

If you do not install this add-on, you will never know how many types of dark themes/modes there can be. It offers more than forty kinds of dark modes, allowing users to switch between them to get a better interface while reading articles for longer durations.

Dark Mode presents almost all the features as the Dark Theme add-on for Firefox. The number of dark mode types, features, options, etc., are nearly the same in both dark reader add-ons. In other words, it is the same product in a different package.

Talking about the features and options, you can have a vast number of dark mode types (textures, different color variants, etc.). It is also possible to create a custom theme for all websites. Regarding compatibility, it works on almost any website a regular user opens to read articles or watch videos.

Dark Reader is probably the best dark mode Firefox add-on, allowing users to create a better environment for reading. Like the Google Chrome edition, it works flawlessly on Firefox. For example, there is brightness and contrast management, grayscale, the keyboard shortcut to toggle between modes, etc. You can also create a list of sites you do not want to enable the dark mode on.

If you do not want to get eye strain by looking at bright computer monitors for a long time, it is better to use a dark mode reader add-on in the Firefox browser. We have covered plenty of add-ons that offer different options according. It is recommended to check them before moving on with one.

Everyone loves dark mode, which is why we have seen the feature roll down from custom Android skins to stock AOSP and even popular individual apps like WhatsApp. But many people use WhatsApp not just in their phones but also on their laptops, computers and tablets via WhatsApp Web. Well, this hack will teach you how to get dark mode on WhatsApp Web as well.

It was last week when WhatsApp rolled out the dark mode feature with WhatsApp Beta 2.20.13. The update is available on the Google Play Store and people who have signed up for the WhatsApp Beta Program can check out the new much-awaited feature. But, you can also use the dark mode on the web version of WhatsApp with the help of an extension named Stylus, reports News 18.

about:home has a light background color on linux systems, when it should have a dark background color, because my system uses a dark theme. about:preferences and about:config are displayed with a dark background as intended.Setting ui.systemUsesDarkTheme to true doesn't change this behavior.browser.in-content.dark-mode is set to true on my system.

about:newtab and about:home are displayed in their dark themes only when extensions.activeThemeID is set to firefox-compact-dark@mozilla.org. Or if you have set the dark theme from about:addons->themes.

Since add-on themes can already restyle these pages, wouldn't it make sense to simply export the required pieces of information for the built-in themes as well? This way no special-casing for firefox-compact-dark@mozilla.org would be needed and the pages would actually use system colors when using the Default theme on all platforms. Would this be a thing that realistically could be done?

Instead of relying solely on the theme to make about:newtab dark, use prefers-color-scheme as well like other about: pages. This makes it work on Linux for the Default theme combined with dark GTK themes and also avoids a white flash on load as the dark mode can be applied immediately rather than waiting for theme colors. The light theme must now explicitly apply newtab colors to override dark mode.

On Windows 10 with system dark mode enabled, Firefox was running Dark theme but about:home was showing as white. However toggling to any other theme and then back to dark theme seemed to fix the issue - until Firefox is restarted. Both explicit dark mode and default make rest of Firefox skinned to use dark theme (so it follows system settings). But as others stated - about:home does not seem to follow this and any temp fixes are dropped at browser restart.

Firefox version: 72.0.1 (64-bit) (latest stable)OS: Windows 10 Pro 10.0.18362 Build 18362"Dark" is enabled in system settings for Windows.Dark mode is enabled for Firefox.extensions.activeThemeID is set to firefox-compact-dark@mozilla.orgThe value of browser.in-content.dark-mode is true

Is there anyone who could fix this? I think this would be a good idea to fix in conjunction with Bug 1529323. Right now it's very easy to get into a mode where the UI is dark, but some in-content pages are blinding white.

For a long time, WhatsApp Web's dark mode was a secret feature that wasn't publicly launched. You had to fiddle with browser coding to enable it. But that's no longer the case; dark mode is now available within Settings. To enable it:

LinkedIn has rolled out dark mode worldwide on Monday, giving 774 million users the option to browse with white text on a dark background. Considered a welcome as most users spend more than an hour on the social network these days.

@LinkedIn said dark mode, through color and contrast, is meant to cut down on eye strain and help people who are sensitive to light. The company says the new design makes the text easier to read. Dark mode, used in low-light conditions, could also help save battery life.

I'm going to go ahead and claim that one of the biggest oversights in modern tech is darkness - blissful, easy-on-the-eyes darkness. Indeed, developers of operating systems, apps, and websites have seemingly ignored the possibility that regular people might be using their products in a dark setting, and that the bright white theme in a dark setting is actually horribly uncomfortable, whether a user realises it or not.

Some have recently acknowledged that dark versions of their otherwise-bright-white products are actually preferable. Apple gave an overarching dark mode to its macOS Mojave operating system. Microsoft has implemented a similar dark mode of sorts for Windows 10, but it's nowhere near as comprehensive as macOS. And certain app and web developers - most notably YouTube and Reddit - have also given users the option to go dark.

You can also get dark mode themes for web browsers, but they only make the navigation and tabs bar dark, not the websites themselves, which defeats the point when bright white is the default colour theme for most websites. 2ff7e9595c
