Microsoft Toolkit 2.3.4: The Ultimate Activator for Windows and Office

The MRTK team has been hard at work on our next major iteration of the toolkit, MRTK v3. We are very excited to share a public preview with you in 2022. For information on our upcoming releases, including the v3 public preview, check out the roadmap page.

Microsoft Toolkit 2.3.4

Xamarin.Forms 2.3.4 has enhanced the Picker view by adding the ability to populate it with data by setting its ItemsSource property, and to retrieve the selected item from the SelectedItem property. In addition, the color of the text for the selected item can be changed by setting the TextColor property to a Color.

** CUDA 11.0 was released with an earlier driver version, but by upgrading to Tesla Recommended Drivers 450.80.02 (Linux) / 452.39 (Windows), minor version compatibility is possible across the CUDA 11.x family of toolkits.

NVVM IR Update: with CUDA 12.0 we are releasing NVVM IR 2.0 which is incompatible with NVVM IR 1.x accepted by the libNVVM compiler in prior CUDA toolkit releases. Linking of NVVM IR Version 1.11 with 2.0 will result in a compiler error. Users of the libNVVM compiler in CUDA 12.0 toolkit must generate NVVM IR 2.0.

The latest version of Visual Studio 2022, v17.3, now generally available, includes new productivity features, a new toolkit for building Microsoft Teams apps, performance improvements for C++ development and tooling for .NET Multi-platform App UI (MAUI). This technology helps users build and ship .NET client apps to Android, iOS, macOS and Windows from a single codebase.

In computing, Motif refers to both a graphical user interface (GUI) specification and the widget toolkit for building applications that follow that specification under the X Window System on Unix and Unix-like operating systems. The Motif look and feel is distinguished by its use of rudimentary square and chiseled three-dimensional effects for its various user interface elements.

Motif was created by the Open Software Foundation (OSF) to be a standard graphical user interface for Unix platforms.[2] Rather than create a new interface from scratch, OSF opened a Request For Technology (RFT) in 1988 to solicit existing technologies from third parties. OSF intended to either adopt an existing interface wholesale, or create one using technologies from multiple existing products. Forty products were submitted, from which OSF selected twenty-three finalists.[3] Among the finalists were Adobe Inc.'s Display Postscript, Sun Microsystems' OPEN LOOK, Digital Research's GEM, IXI Limited's X.desktop, Apollo Computer's Open Dialogue, Carnegie Mellon University's Andrew User Interface System, Digital Equipment Corporation's XUI, and Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft's CXI and PM/X. Ultimately, OSF selected HP and Microsoft's CXI and DEC's XUI, using the look and feel, window manager and Common User Access compliance from CXI, along with the widget toolkit API and User Interface Language (UIL) from XUI.[4][5] Motif was first shipped by OSF in 1989.[2]

I'm connected to the author on LinkedIn, he started a new role a few months back so he's probably too busy to look at issue at the moment, also until Microsoft get their finger out and release a stable version of forms 2.4.0, popular plugin providers and MVVM frameworks etc are a bit in limbo, they can't support it while it's endlessly in pre-release. It affects Telerik as well who can't support it and still officially only support 2.3.4 although 2.3.5-pre6 works fine with the controls. The whole eco-system suffers. 2ff7e9595c
